ABOUT ME

I have been a Licensed Clinical Therapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional for the last 30 years. I have worked with women of all ages throughout the lifecycle. I am a New York native who moved to Chicago over six years ago. I received my LCSW and my Advanced Clinical Degree from New York University, New York, NY. The field of mental health has changed greatly in thirty years. I have taken courses throughout my career to stay updated on my skill set. I work in a holistic fashion and honor your individuality. My work style is relaxed, collaborative, honest, open, and conversational. I value that you are trusting me with your difficulties and I recognize that I work for you. Together we will pull out the strengths that you already have, set goals, and determine ways to reach them. As a supportive partner, I help you, to do the work, and to be the best you that you want to be.

It is probable that all of us will face times of stress and discomfort in our lives, in our environments, and in ourselves. While these stresses can seem insurmountable, I have seen my clients integrate and utilize these difficult times and turn them into times of rebirth and rebranding. They come to recognize the strength they possess; they gain a new level of self-awareness and gain a new healthier sense of self. It is difficult to work, but over and over again I have witnessed this change. This is the work I provide at Nurture Therapy, LLC.

THERAPEUTIC FOCUS & SPECIALIZATION

My own experiences as a more mature woman, who suffered from a miscarriage and postpartum depression as well as a variety of other experiences that come with raising and launching a family, and aging gives me a more in-depth understanding of some of the issues that you may be dealing with. I also spent ten years of my career working with the geriatric population and understanding the issues that older women face. My passion for my work comes from loving to learn about the individual gifts each person possesses and helping them to grow and achieve their goal.

To honor each person’s individuality, I am a seasoned veteran working in many modalities of treatment. I can provide long-term and short-term therapies. I can do individual, couples, or family work. The types of techniques that I use are representative of; Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance-Commitment, EMDR, Narrative, Systems therapies as well as Supportive Counseling. All therapies are done with Trauma-Informed Care. I also utilize a lot of meditation, mindfulness, and grounding techniques. I will recommend other types of care as needed as I believe in treating the whole individual.
