ABOUT ME

I am a licensed clinical therapist and certified perinatal mental health specialist. I received my Master’s degree from Loyola University Chicago and began my clinical career working with adults struggling with traumatic stress and treating symptoms of anxiety, depression, and mood dysregulation. I have extensive training in cognitive, behavioral, interpersonal, and supportive therapies, which allow me to utilize a highly eclectic and individualized therapeutic approach in treatment. I believe in creating a therapy to fit the individual.

Every client brings inherent strengths and unique attributes to therapy. We will find your strengths and collaborate to achieve your goals and make satisfying changes to your life.

PERINATAL MOOD & ANXIETY DISORDERS

As a Perinatal Mental Health Specialist, I know that many women are faced with emotional challenges and struggles during or after their pregnancy.  It is important to understand that perinatal mood disorders are common, and you are not to blame for experiencing these feelings and symptoms.  These symptoms respond well to treatment, and with support and guidance, you can feel better and more like yourself again.

I utilize evidence-based, effective therapy methods to identify and treat the issues that are causing you to feel overwhelmed, anxious, and highly stressed. Through compassionate problem-solving and a collaborative approach, we will develop strategies to manage feelings of guilt, sadness, and worry, adjust to the new life transition, and balance the needs of your family, relationships, career, and self.  I understand that every mother, family, and situation is unique, and appreciate that each woman knows herself best. Together, we will address the feelings that are impacting your ability to enjoy motherhood and create solutions to help you recover your sense of self while you care for your family in ways that feel productive, healthy, and positive.

I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see how I can help you.
