Anna Robbins, LPC (she/her)

ABOUT ME

I am a licensed professional counselor. I received my Master’s in clinical mental health counseling from Adler University. My background includes work in community mental health and group private practice focusing on clients with mood and anxiety disorders, perinatal mood disorders, complex trauma, obsessive compulsive disorders, neurodivergence, grief/loss, and life transitions.

My approach is integrative, authentic, and holistic, blending relational, attachment-based, and emotion-focused techniques with evidence-based practices. I believe that therapy should be tailored to honor and celebrate your specific needs. My goal is to create a collaborative space where you feel supported, understood, and empowered, so we can uncover your strengths and nurture your growth as a whole person.

I am constantly inspired by my client’s resiliency as they take steps toward living authentically. It is an honor to walk with individuals as they move through the transitions and changes involved in parenthood and beyond. Sometimes life brings grief, sadness, and loss. Sometimes it brings frustration, conflict, and anger. Sometimes it brings joy, bliss, and happiness. Sometimes it brings all of these emotions all at once. I will sit with you through these emotions so that we can find hope, meaning, and healing together.

THERAPEUTIC FOCUS: TRANSITION IN PARENTING & NEURODIVERSITY

Neurodivergent individuals, particularly those with ADHD and/or autism, may face an increased risk of postpartum depression or anxiety due to challenges with sensory overload, emotional regulation, and executive functioning. This can be a major source of anxiety and depression, which can be rooted in low confidence, poor self-worth and feelings of inadequacy. As a dedicated advocate for inclusive care, it is important for neurodiverse individuals to receive the support they need throughout their path to and throughout parenthood. If this sounds like something you are suffering from, treatment can have a profound impact on anxiety and depression, especially when you are able to feel more productive and accomplish your goals. Therefore, accurate diagnosis is so important to help you get the care that you need. This can include understanding how sensory input may be experienced more intensely, offering strategies for managing emotional fluctuations, and finding ways to support executive function tasks like organization and decision-making. This combined with the often overwhelming responsibilities of caring for a newborn, can magnify existing struggles and create additional barriers to well-being. By working collaboratively, we can develop personalized coping strategies and create a comprehensive support plan that not only acknowledges but also embraces neurodiversity.

As a neurodivergent parent myself, I can provide empathy, understanding, humor, and a judgement free space for you to laugh, cry, and everything in between. I’m happy you’re here!
