ABOUT ME

I am a licensed social worker. I received my Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign and earned my Masters of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis.  I am trained in a variety of therapies, including cognitive behavioral and various other supportive therapies. This enables me to utilize an eclectic approach, tailoring each client’s treatment to their unique needs.

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working in diverse settings, including pediatrics, where I provided critical crisis intervention services and supported children and families that have experienced trauma. Although this work is challenging and demanding, I recognize that I hold a pivotal role in the process of healing. I believe in the power of storytelling and believe that each of my clients, from young children to my adult clients, have a story to tell. I see my role as amplifying their stories. Therefore, a fundamental aspect of my practice is to create a safe, non-judgmental, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed environment for my clients where they are empowered to share their stories. In this, they find hope and healing.

FOCUS ON MOTHERHOOD JOURNEY, LIFE TRANSITIONS AND TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE

As a therapist, I provide a space where individuals can embrace their authentic selves and gain the tools needed to navigate life's challenges, such as the motherhood journey. Transitioning into motherhood is a remarkable journey filled with both excitement and sometimes apprehension. Many describe it as one of the most rewarding, yet challenging experiences that one can embark on; I get it. I understand the unique challenges that motherhood can bring. When we become parents, we often relive the parenting experiences we know; the experiences we have had with our own parents. Whether or not these relationships were healthy, there is often exploration, consideration, and sometimes healing that needs to be done. One of my key interests in trauma-informed work. Together, we will address past traumas from childhood, child rearing and family dynamics. You will learn to face these challenges head on, without fear, but with the confidence that you can parent in the way that is right for you and your family.

Struggling through other life transitions, such as chronic health conditions, new career path, moving to a new city? I have got you. I work with both men and women in an individual therapy setting. While working with me you will receive tools, strategies and confidence that your life transitions will be smooth and manageable. Together, we can build a strong therapeutic relationship, equipping you with the confidence and tools necessary to thrive on this journey. I am dedicated to helping you become the best version of yourself, as well as the best mom that you can be. We will navigate this transformative path with strength and resilience.
