ABOUT ME
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor currently able to provide services in Indiana and Tennessee. I obtained my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University, which has equipped me with the expertise to address a wide range of mental health concerns. Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse populations, including children, teenagers, and adults, in various settings such as schools, universities, individual homes, and offices. This experience has allowed me to understand the unique challenges that individuals face at different life stages and in different environments. My therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based techniques, particularly in cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. Additionally, mindfulness is a fundamental aspect of my therapeutic approach. Although some may consider it a "trendy" concept, I firmly believe in its power when intentionally developed. I work with my clients to incorporate mindfulness as a daily practice, helping them take control of their emotions and thoughts and integrate mindfulness into their everyday lives. These proven methods empower my clients to overcome issues like anxiety, depression, transitions, parenting struggles, and obsessive-compulsive tendencies.
My therapeutic style is relaxed and relational, establishing a safe space for clients to express themselves openly. I like getting to know my clients, while actively seeks to understand their unique strengths and qualities. We work collaboratively to set meaningful goals for therapy. By fostering resilience, I empower my clients to face life's challenges with newfound strength and confidence.
AREAS OF FOCUS: TRANSITIONING TO PARENTHOOD
I have a special interest in working with mothers through the significant transition into parenthood. My specialized training in perinatal mental health allows me to provide targeted support to mothers during this transformative phase. Having my own experience with birth trauma and loss, I emphasize deeply with my clients struggles. I work with mothers to address concerns during this vulnerable time. My goal is to normalize the range of emotions experienced during this vulnerable time. I strive to offer unwavering support and guidance to identify strengths and develop new skills that enable my clients to embrace a peaceful transition to parenthood and a new sense of self.
